Cooking Wednesday
This week saw the launch of our "Cooking Wednesday" sessions. This staff wellbeing initiative after school is designed to improve confidence when cooking and get staff together for a bit of fun and enjoyment.
The first cook-off this week saw staff making Mr Hussain's (our Urdu teacher and all-round Smithills legend) favourite curry. It is a flavourful chicken chana aloo, which is a chicken, chickpeas and potato curry with a bit of a kick. Staff really enjoyed themselves and got to chat with members of staff they don't normally come into contact with on a daily basis. Miss Jackson said, "It was really good fun and the curry was sensational." Mr Hindley said he was proud to work in a school which put staff wellbeing at the top of its agenda and added that it was the best curry he had tasted in a while.
We are looking to make this a monthly event and look forward to our next session in June.
