Welcome to Smithills! Our website will give you a brief insight into the workings of our school, but you can get far more information by arranging to visit us and see the school for yourself.

Smithills enjoyed its best ever examination results last year. 51% of our students achieved 5 or more A* to C grades including English and Maths. This is a wonderful achievement and the current Year 11 will do even better than last year’s students!

Smithills Achieves Artsmark Gold Again

Smithills School has received official notification from Artsmark that ithas retained its status as an Artsmark Gold school for a further three years. Smithills has been an Artsmark Gold school since 2009 and, prior to that, was an Artsmark Silver school from both 2003 to 2006 and 2006 to 2009. Everyone at Smithills is delighted at today’s news.

Sam Holds The Torch for Bolton!

On the 31st May 2012 Bolton will be receiving the Olympic torch as it makes its way from the top to the bottom of the country to the London 2012 opening ceremony on 27th July.
