Attendance Support Assistant

WORKING PATTERN:    32.5 hours per week  TERM TIME ONLY

WORKING HOURS:      8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday

SALARY:                       Grade C Pt 4 - 6  £24,404 - £25,183 (full time full year) Pro rata salary approx. £17,912 - £18,484

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified candidate to work alongside the Attendance Manager, Assistant Attendance Officer and key school staff in school to reduce levels of absence and work with children and families to promote high levels of attendance.  You will ensure daily attendance registers are accurate and complete and follow up any unexplained absences with parents/carers, escalating issues with as appropriate in line with school procedures.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use IT systems, analyse data and create reports. You will be organized, proactive and self-motivated, be able to work well under pressure and create good relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Mentor to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural difficulties in The Bridge, Alternative Provision.  You will proactively collaborate with pupils, staff and parents / carers to promote positive behaviour amongst all pupils, and to help them overcome barriers to learning.  You will work closely with the Bridge Leader to support pupils who require intensive intervention for behaviour and social, emotional and mental health difficulties, promoting ways to ensure pupils' independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.

You will have experience of working in a school environment or other educational setting and experience of demonstrating high quality effective support to students with challenging behaviour.  You will have the ability to build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently, with respect and consideration and demonstrate concern for their development as learners.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified candidate to proactively collaborate with pupils, staff and parents/carers to promote positive behaviour among all pupils, and to help pupils overcome barriers to learning. The successful candidate will plan, deliver and evaluate the impact of behaviour interventions and work with external agencies as required. 

You will have experience of working with children of a relevant age, dealing with difficult situations relating to poor behaviour and experience of working with outside agencies and participating in meetings.  You will be able to assess pupils’ needs and have a well-developed understanding of strategies to manage and support young people with challenging behaviour in a school environment.
