SALARY:                      Grade E pt 11 – 17 £27,269 - £30,060 (full time full year)  Pro Rata Salary approx. £23,342 - £25,731

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Mentor to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural difficulties in The Bridge, Alternative Provision.  You will proactively collaborate with pupils, staff and parents / carers to promote positive behaviour amongst all pupils, and to help them overcome barriers to learning.  You will work closely with the Bridge Leader to support pupils who require intensive intervention for behaviour and social, emotional and mental health difficulties, promoting ways to ensure pupils' independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.

You will have experience of working in a school environment or other educational setting and experience of demonstrating high quality effective support to students with challenging behaviour.  You will have the ability to build and maintain successful relationships with pupils, treat them consistently, with respect and consideration and demonstrate concern for their development as learners.

Education Healthcare Worker and First Aid Leader

WORKING PATTERN:   32.5 hours per week over 5 days, TERM TIME ONLY PLUS 2 DAYS

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified candidate to meet the needs of individual pupils according to guidance and direction provided by the Class Teacher /SENDCo/Healthcare professionals as appropriate and to be responsible for carrying out specific medical procedures.  You will maintain an up to date register of medical needs and ensure all healthcare needs of the child are met in accordance with healthcare plans.  You will assist in the preparation and distribution of any relevant paperwork i.e. PEEPs, PEPs Risk Assessments and work with multi-agencies to support Early Help meetings.  You will deliver programmes of work devised by and under the direction of health professionals e.g., speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists etc.

You will be able to work on your own initiative and also as part of a team, be adaptable, well organised and self motivated. You will have the ability to prioritise tasks and have an awareness of Health & Safety issues.  You will hold a current First Aid Certificate and be willing to upgrade qualifications as appropriate.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and suitably qualified candidate to work under the guidance of teaching/senior staff and within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the cover room/classroom. In the cover room/classroom staff will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. The primary focus will be to maintain good order and to keep pupils on task. Cover Supervisors will need to respond to questions and generally assist pupils to undertake set activities. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the teacher in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

You will have experience of working with children in an educational setting and an understanding and working knowledge of the national curriculum and other learning programmes.  You will have the ability to work effectively within a team environment, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and the ability to build effective working relationships with all pupils and colleagues.
