We are delighted to have been able to secure guest speakers who will, alongside our own staff, address parents and carers on the significant issue of mental wellbeing. The video will include presentations from experts in the field of mental health and wellbeing, including, Jacqui Duckham, a senior educational psychologist in social and emotional mental health, and Lisa Clemmett, a Public Health Nurse, who works for Bolton Children's Integrated Health and Wellbeing Service.

Additionally, we have information provided by Heather Hook from Kooth, an online mental wellbeing community and Miss Angus from Smithills who will share tips on how to support children whilst they are working from home.

One in ten children in the UK experience mental health problems so spotting the signs and early intervention can be crucial in making a positive difference to their emotional wellbeing. Research suggests that 50% of all mental health problems begin by the age of 14 and this was before the Pandemic and the issues that school closures, not seeing friends and the uncertainty of what the future will bring.

We anticipate that this presentation will attract high levels of interest (at least the benefits of a remote presentation mean that we are not constrained by the capacity of the school hall) but please note that the presentation is aimed at parents/ carers and how you can support your child. At the end of the presentation there will be an email address so you will be able to send us any questions you may have regarding the information shared.

The presentation lasts approximately one hour.
