The Changing Education Group put together a Virtual Work Experience Programme for us that provided access to a full range of sector spotlight sessions, industry insights, employer masterclasses and Live employer talks including The Futures Panel.
Students were timetabled in computer rooms for most of the week so they could work on their projects and complete research tasks.
Year 10 have been involved in an amazing range of activities throughout the week which has included;
Hearing from Industry experts
Researching companies and exploring businesses in more detail
Practicing interview skills
Writing, presenting, and recording elevator speeches.
Accessing careers websites to complete independent research and look at ‘dream jobs’
Practicing Budgeting skills
Completing a project as part of a team
Year 10 have appreciated the advice provided from all employers and have been able to develop many transferable skills including Interpersonal communication skills, IT skills, Teamwork, working to deadlines, presentation skills, interview skills and many more!!
They have enjoyed having the opportunity to work more independently this week and been self-motivated when completing project work for the employer. Year 10 have also had an opportunity to explore careers websites and plan for their own futures.
Students have been able to email The Changing Education Group and submit questions to employers throughout the week and have also submitted projects and elevator speeches at the end of their week.
This has been a valuable experience for all involved. We would like to thank all the employers who have recorded sessions for our students to access or were ‘live’ during the week, with special thanks to The Changing Education Group for hosting the week for us.
