Thursday 25th November | Venue - Smithills School Sports Centre | Under 16s Basketball Fixture.

Smithills entertained local rivals Canon Slade in the league fixture. Prior to the match tip off the now well established and very popular Smithills Basketball club completed another training session. Students from all year groups attended the club looking to develop their fitness levels and of course their basketball skills. It’s fantastic to see the next generation of basketball players enjoying themselves. As tip off approached they then became Smithills Supporters as they eagerly awaited the match. The match didn’t disappoint. Some of the skills and commitment displayed on court from both teams had the spectators cheering and applauding from the packed viewing gallery the players efforts.

It was a very competitive hard fought match. Smithills students worked tirelessly against a much bigger Canon Slade team. The match ebbed and flowed throughout but unfortunately on this occasion Smithills just fell a little bit short in terms of the result.

Mr Nash was very proud of the pride, passion, effort and commitment displayed by the Smithills squad of players.

Mr Sidebottom who came to support the team also congratulated the players on their performances.
