Mrs Scholefield Year 10 Groups
I have emailed you all and attached a huge amount of resources for you to continue working on your RO55 Working in the Sports Industry assignment
An overview of the information provided:
LO1- I have looked at the work you handed in before the school closure and in most cases you have a detailed LO1 which is only missing more examples of jobs for each area. Please use your time to research more jobs within each area and use the UK Sport Jobs website to search for relevant examples then cut and paste them onto your work. After speaking to other members of the PE dept you need more than one example per area. Make sure you have included all job areas- use the checklist to cross check.
LO2- Continue to add as much detail as you can to the tables. Reasearch each job and understand the requirements and add further detail.
LO3- The first task is identifying the places (newspaper, web, local shop, word of mouth etc) that you can see jobs advertised. I know some of you have started the CV use the template provided and ensure you sell yourself that is the idea of a CV.
LO4- My advice is to look at the sample assessment material and see how it is laid out and follow suit. This LO4 if completed well will help you with the exam unit in Y11 so take your time and research the areas and learn them as it will be banked in your head for the exam in Y11.
Also refer to the sample assessment material, URS (markscheme) and action plan to guide you. I have also attached a checklist for the whole assignment to ensure you have completed everything.
Its really important you continue to complete this work as there are two further units to complete in Y11 we cannot afford to spend time on this unit in Y11.
Please send drafts to me to check and any questions you may have email through.

Extra Challenge
Lockdown Languages Challenge week 1: Can you think of as many reasons as possible why learning a language is important? How creative can you be? Produce a poster, short video, Powerpoint (be as creative as you like!) and send your ideas to Mrs Pacer via email: j.pacer@smithillsschool.net Mrs Pacer will judge the entries and send you out a certificate to print (and chocolates when we next see each other). All entries to be received by Monday 4th May. Good luck!

Year 10 Spanish (Mrs Pacer):
-
Tune in to Spanish radio or TV and listen for at least 15 minutes at a time. What can you understand? Listen for keywords and focus on what you DO understand! Make notes each time you complete the task and look any new items of vocab using a dictionary (Word reference/Spanishdict are usually reliable online tools for single words)
-
Watch a film in Spanish! Pick a film you are familiar with if you’re not feeling brave enough to try a new one! Turn the sound to Spanish and enjoy.
-
Reading: Choose any 5 Spanish online articles (newspapers/magazines) and make notes on the content in English. Write down at least 10 new items of vocab per article and find out the English for them. Write a summary of each article in English.
-
Writing:
Topic: holidays. Write 90-100 words on the topic of holidays. Include a range of tenses eg. Where you went, what the hotel was like, what you did, who you were with…where you normally like to go and do and why…where you WOULD like to go if you WERE rich…where you WILL go next year and why.
Topic: where you live. Write 150-160 words. Include a range of tenses eg. Where you used to live, where you live now, what there is and not in your town, what you like and dislike about your town…where you WOULD like to live and why…where you WILL live in the future and why.
