On Thursday 27th May, we said a final goodbye to our wonderful year 11 cohort.

After completing their final 2 lessons at Smithills School, the catering team put on some free food and drink to all year 11 pupils, so they could spend one last break time together before departing.

What was unique this year was the surprise gift of a free year book for all our year 11 pupils, which was presented to each form by our Year 11 Director of Learning, Mr Harrison. Mr Harrison said, "We wanted to treat the pupils for being absolutely amazing this year ... Our in house Media and Digital team, designed and produced over 170 year books for the pupils. I would like to say thank you to everybody who helped out today and finally to our year 11 pupils, I wish you all the very best in the future and good luck".

As the morning came to a close, the pupils were shown 2 videos, one being their year 7 pictures and the final one being a video highlighting their past 5 years at Smithills School.

Our Principal, Mr Sidebottom said, "I am so proud of each and everyone of our year 11 pupils. This hasn't been the easiest of years for our year 11's during the pandemic but they have all taken it in their stride and stood up to the challenge. I would like to wish them all the best for the future".
