Y10/11 Open Evenings:

Students are encouraged to visits open evening for all the establishments with whom they have an interest in studying with at the end of year 11.

It is advised to attend open evenings during Year 10 & 11 so students have an opportunity to see all the post 16 establishments and can speak with the experts at each, to find out more about courses and opportunities available to and can prepare adequately for their future careers.

Dates of all open evenings are updates at the start of every academic year .

Year 10 Transition Day

Students are invited to attend the college transition day organised for students at one of our local colleges in the summer term of Year 10. Throughout the day they will ‘sample’ different subject areas and learn about the different courses and facilities the college has to offer students. This is an important time to explore their options and prompts the start of the decision making process about which subjects they may wish to pursue post 16. Having a clear understanding of their predicted grades at this time enables them to explore the entry requirements for the different courses and make sure they understand in advance, the expectations of them by the end of Year 11.
